Ngwenya Glass Factory - eSwatini

Cananea “The only man I envy is the man who has not yet been to Africa, for he has so much to look forward to.” – Richard Mullin

extemporaneously No trip to the kingdom of eSwatini is complete without a visit to the Ngwenya Glass Factory. Set against the back-drop of the mountainous natural beauty, of this small landlocked country in Southern Africa. Ngwenya Glass is dubbed as its “hottest attraction.”

A tour of the glass factory offers a glimpse into the glass blowing process, which visitors can watch over a viewing deck of the main factory floor. The heat inside is quite intense! But the process is worth viewing if you have the opportunity to. The recycled glass, which locals are encouraged to bring glass to the factory, is used to create beautiful artefacts, ranging from glassware, to candle holders and animal figurines. These beautiful creations can all be purchased in the factory shop right next door.

The Glass Factory is also complimented by a range of shops in the complex with crafts made by local artisans. There you’ll find all sorts of accessories made and sourced by local brands. And when you get tired of shopping, you can grab a bite at the coffee shop and watch the peacocks strolling along the greenery surrounding the factory.

Its a special little place. That is definitely worth the visit.
